Warehouse #3 By Mike

I have always loved the huge, monolithic, bonded warehouses that sit alongside the river not far from where we live - a remnant of Bristol's industrial past.

This painting is a combination of watercolour and spray-stencil. The image is drawn and cut as one or more stencils. A loose splattery watercolour underpainting is made and the stencils are then sprayed over the top providing definition and shading.

The stencils can be reused with similar or different underpaintings, this makes it possible to sell a beautiful, original, unique painting at an affordable price. Each numbered version of a painting is a one-off and will have it's own character because the variability of the interaction between colours, painting and spray stencil.

The painting is titled and signed and sold unmounted. It is painted on 300gm rough watercolour paper which measures approx 9 x 12 inches and suits a frame approx 11 x 14 inches.
