Jane was fascinated with Celtic knots, and said she found it ridiculously difficult to remember how to draw them, with the cleverness of the weaving in and out to ensure they go on forever, no beginning and no end. It was that flow which gave her the idea to combine a knot with a description of the seasons, through the year of an apple tree. Jane was inspired after looking at Japanese woodcuts, and the style of this design is heavily influenced by them.
It is hand printed onto hand made hemp paper, and colour is added with acrylics, a medium Jane always loved. Jane always loved colouring in!
