Welcome to Striped Pebble

Striped Pebble creates affordable art and cards. Hand printed linocuts, original watercolour paintings, limited edition prints, cards and other lovely things.

The majority of the work on this site was designed and created by Jane Kendall who fell in love with the process and possibilities of linocut printmaking in around 2010.

Mike was Jane’s husband, and since Jane's untimely death in 2018, Mike has been committed to keeping Jane’s amazing legacy of beautiful work alive using her original linocut blocks, ink recipes, and creative printing and hand-finishing techniques. He also produces some original paintings and prints of his own when he gets the chance.

What is a linocut?

It was so nice to be invited to feature Jane's work in one of these short 'meet the maker' videos filmed by the lovely Owen from Boardwalk, a local estate agent which sponsored the 2023 South Bristol Arts Trail. It gives you a peek behind the scenes into the process of hand printing a linocut print.
