Jane always loved Lapwings. Who couldn't? OK so it may be a bit silly to lay your eggs on the ground in the first place, but to have the instinct to lure predators away by pretending to have a broken wing is pure genius. It also helps that they are very pretty.
This print is hand printed in two layers, which allows me to build up the colours in the wings.
This version is then finished with acrylics.
It is printed on hand made lokta paper which has been dyed a beautiful dark blue.
The image measures 10cm x 26cm and is printed on paper that measures 16cm x 34cm.
